A hypotheses test is a statistical process in where formulating hypotheses, than performing analysis of data, and finally making decision base of analysis. This particular simulation was about selecting hypotheses in banking industry. The business problem was that there has been tremendous increase in identity fraud. To counter act this problem many has proposed use of biometric method. However, there in order to ensure this decision is in fact correct than, further analysis of data was required. In simulation, challenge was to select the correct hypothesis and performing right analysis followed by decision. This activity allows management to decide rather this biometric decision is correct or not. This also gives further understanding of cost associated by making these major changes.

Organizations today often encourage change to better work environment. However, these changes often cause unwanted results which were unexpected. This leads us to observe research in hope of minimizing unwanted negative result. What is research and why is it important for companies to understand it? Research is simply information that provides solution to problem. For the purpose of this paper, the article, implementation of supply chain management and its impacts on the value of firms is discussed. This article explains effect of Supply Chain Management on firm’s value.
The purpose of this research is to examine the effects of Supply Chain implementation issues on firm’s value. According to the research, there is a significant opportunities exists for organization to utilize Supply Chain at it maximum effectiveness. “The null hypothesis is supply chain implementation issues have no impact on firm value. The alternative hypothesis is that poor supply implementation can have a negative impact on firm.” (Bradford 2005) I think that this statement is absolutely true since SCM does everything from minute order is received from customer until it is delivered to customer. For these reason, organization should take great care when implementing new SCM solution.
The research article is very well organized. It is broke down in to sections which clearly show information is simplistic ways. The case studies were nicely structured as well. “This research use case study methodology to examine the impact of supply chain implementation issues on the market value of the firm.” (Bradford 2005) Case studies were performed on Dell, Hershey, Nike and the impact of supply chain implementation issues on these firms’s value.
In conclusion, the Supply Chain implementation issues can have a major impact on the value of firm. As the Nike and Hershey learned from there lesson that great care should be taken when implementation of new SCM solution.

Organizations today often encourage change to better work environment. However, these changes often cause unwanted results which were unexpected. This leads us to observe research in hope of minimizing unwanted negative result. What is research and why is it important for companies to understand it? Research is simply information that provides solution to problem. “Business research is a systematic inquiry that provides information to guide decisions. More specifically, it is a process of determining, acquiring, analyzing and synthesizing, and disseminating relevant data, information, and insights to decision makers in ways that mobilize the organization to take appropriate actions that, in turn, maximizes business performance.” (Business Research Methods) For the purpose of this paper, the article, Connectivity: Enabling Visibility in the Adaptive Supply Chain is discussed. This article describes Supply Chain Management within organization and how technology is used to stay connect. It also discuses the automation and the collaboration used by the organization to stay connected with supply chain management.
The purpose of the research is to understand organizations and how they are working together to increase connectivity to supply chain management. According to the research, there is a significant opportunities exists for organization to become connected. It also stress important of having real time data. “Firms having real-time (or near real-time) information available about product, customers, and order fulfillment across the supply chain can achieve two significant objectives: improve customer service, and increase operating efficiencies and effectiveness. Not surprisingly, the currency of data and information affects both firms and their supply chain partners.” (Capgemini 2004) By having real time data gives the organization power to make the right decisions at the right time which can be profitable At the same time this allow organization to stay connected giving better visibility.
The research article is very well organized. It is broke down in to sections which clearly show information is simplistic ways. First problem this research proposed is the lack of connectivity within Supply Chain Management. The research points out that though connectivity organization can increase visibility in all aspect. This could give organization tremendous advantage over competitions.
The second problem it proposes is lack of technologies that SCM should be using not only to stay connected but for visibility as well. Traditionally, IT department had there own responsibilities. That is changing, more and more SCM professional are taking active role in making decision hardware, software, integration and even ongoing improvements. This new change is allowing organization to stay connected which SCM. Connectivity is allowing employees, vendors, and customer to share real time information
There were variety of organization and people who were involved in conduct of this research. Major participant were “CRST International, Microsoft Corporation, and Frank Quinn, Editor of Supply Chain Management Review.” (Capgemini 2004) There were also hundreds of professional participated in researches via survey. I think this collection of different parties adds credit to research and not to mention they provide good deal of knowledge which is very useful in research.
The method used to conduct the research was capturing and analyzing data retrieved from all participating people. They studied global and non-global companies to understand how they are trying to develop better connectivity not only internally but externally as well. Half of the participating companies have revenue over $1 Billion. The average amount spent on logistics is between $200 million through $249 million. “Some 374 logistics and supply chain professionals participated in this study, which was conducted via the Internet.” (Capgemini 2004)
In conclusion, connectivity is important for organization. Through connectivity, the organization can share real time information. This allows organization to be more competitive and gives them more positive decision making advantages. Effort made by Capgemini in this research has helped many professional in Supply Chain Management. Hopefully, in coming years, they will continue further research on this subject.
